Lt. Gen. (R) Abdul Qayyum

---Lieutenant General Abdul Qayyum is a retired three-star general of the Pakistan Army who has been the chairman of the Pakistan Ordnance Factories and Chairman of Board of Pakistan Steel Mills. He entered the Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, in May 1966 as a cadet and was commissioned in the Pakistan Army in April 1968. He remained the chairman of the Pakistan Ordnance Factories from September 1998 to January 2004. He was also sent to Britain in 2016 as a special envoy of the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Kashmir where he effectively highlighted the details of human rights’ violations being committed by Indian Army against Kashmiris demanding for their right of self-determination as promised by the United Nation.

Ayaz Amir

---Ayaz Amir is a prominent Pakistani journalist, columnist and a senior politician. He was previously elected a Member of National Assembly representing Chakwal in 2008. He became famous as a columnist for the newspaper Dawn. In recent years, he has written some controversial stories about the 1965 war with India. His articles are humorous yet spot-on, capturing the essence of scandals in the brewing.

 

 

Dr. Allah Bakhsh Malik

---Dr. Allah Bakhsh is an academic, researcher, development economist, social scientist, management and institutional development specialist. He is a member of Pakistan Administrative Service, Central Superior Services of Government of Pakistan. He has also led the professional teams in development sector in inter-sectoral, multi-temporal and cross-disciplinary fields at national and international level. He has this unique distinction since he is the first Pakistani and Muslim who has been conferred the Confucius Award by UN-UNESCO. Dr. Malik represented Pakistan and Asia Pacific nations on the Board of Global Partnership for Education - GPE, The World Bank for three years. In his early career, he served as Deputy Commissioner Chilas - Diamer, Gilgit, Muzzaffargarh and Pakpattan.

Abdul Khaliq

---Abdul Khaliq born in Chakwal Punjab, was a Pakistani sprinter from 8 Medium Regiment Artillery who won 36 gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 12 bronze medals for Pakistan at international. He competed in the 100 m, 200 m and 4 x 100 m relay. He participated in two Olympics, the 1956 Melbourne Olympics and the 1960 Rome Olympics. He also participated in two Asian Games, the 1954 Asian Games and the 1958 Asian Games.

 

 

Yahya Khan

---Agha Muhammad Yahya Khan was born in Chakwal, Punjab in February 1917.  He was the third President of Pakistan (from 25 March 1969 until turning over his presidency in December 1971). Having participated in the Mediterranean Theatre of World War II on behalf of Great Britain's British Indian Army, he opted for Pakistani citizenship and joined its military after the United Kingdom partitioned India in 1947, and helped in executing the covert infiltration in Indian Kashmir that sparked the war with India in 1965. After being controversially appointed to assume the army command in 1966, he took over the presidency from unpopular former dictator and elected President Ayub Khan. Yahya Khan subsequently enforced martial law by suspending the constitution.

Aamer Sohail

---Aamer Sohail born in Chakwal in April 1973 was a Pakistani cricketer. He was a left-handed batsman and leg-break bowler who played for Rawalpindi. Sohail made a single first-class appearance for the team, during the 1999-2000 season, against Allied Bank Limited.

 

 

Khudadad Khan

---Khudadad Khan VC (October 20, 1888 - March 08, 1971) was the first soldier of the British Indian Army to become the recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest military award for gallantry in the face of the enemy given to British and Commonwealth forces. A statue of Khudadad Khan is placed at the entrance of the Pakistan Army Museum in Rawalpindi.
